South Dakota Gold, Shube’s Join to Create Dakota West

South Dakota Gold Co. and Shube’s Inc. have announced the merger of their companies under the new name of Dakota West Designs Inc. This merger has allowed Dakota West to strengthen its management team, develop greater manufacturing efficiencies and gain buying power, as well as widen distribution of all brands.

South Dakota Gold Co. has been an icon in the Black Hills gold business for almost 30 years, while Shube’s Inc. has been an innovator in the Southwest and sterling silver fashion category for nearly four decades.

Brandon Keyser, company president, said the merger will combine the leadership customer service of South Dakota Gold with the fashion and design capabilities of Shube’s.

“We have consolidated our efforts by moving every brand we offer, with the exception of our Black Hills Gold line, under one roof at our new Dakota West headquarters in Albuquerque, N.M.,” Keyser said.

South Dakota Gold will continue to maintain its manufacturing facility in Rapid City, S.D. Dakota West’s corporate headquarters is located in Albuquerque, N.M. The Hoeweler Group of Cincinnati, which boasts a large stable of companies that operate among multiple industries, is maintaining ownership.
