Smoky Mountain Gift Show Returns Under New Management

Now managed by Urban Expositions, the Smoky Mountain Gift Show will return to the Gatlinburg Convention Center Nov. 4-7 with a new energy, an expanded product selection and a series of upgraded buyer services that cater directly to the specialized buying needs of museum, lake, lodge, mountain, souvenir/gift, zoo, aquarium and amusement shop retailers.

Located in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, the show site is surrounded by hotels, gift shops, popular locally owned restaurants, nightspots and boutiques and mountain vistas. Show officials said the ambiance of this convenient, cost-effective setting comes together with an unrivaled product selection from the top names and innovative newcomers in the souvenir/resort industry to attract retailers throughout the country.

“It’s an honor and a privilege to take over the reins of an event that has been such an important mainstay in the souvenir industry,” said Doug Miller, president, Urban Expositions. “Over the years, the annual Smoky Mountain Gift Show developed a solid reputation for not just the amount of business that is done, but for the networking aspect that takes place in this beautiful mountain setting. We look forward to further strengthening the show’s position as the premier souvenir and gift resource in the Eastern United States.”

Highlights for the Smoky Mountain Gift Show will include hotel rates for buyers starting as low as $39.99 at hotels conveniently located near the Gatlinburg Convention Center, free parking for pre-registered buyers and free buyers services and amenities that include complimentary coffee and doughnuts each morning and beer, wine and cheese each afternoon.

In addition, retailers will also benefit from a number of free seminars that cover everything from displays to e-commerce, goody bag giveaways, a free seminar hosted by the National Association of Retail Buyers (NARB), a Living Legends Social that will honor those whose contributions have helped the souvenir industry take shape and a variety of networking events for members of the Zoo & Aquarium Buyers Group (ZAG).
