Gray Matters Games, Hoyle among TAGIE nominees

The Chicago Toy & Game Group has announced the finalists for the 2019 Toy & Game Innovator of the Year Awards (TAGIEs). Illinois-based company, Gray Matters Games, has been named a finalist in the category of Rising Star of the Year for their work with new game The Game of Wolf this year. HOYLE, a brand of the United States Playing Card Company, has been named a finalist in the Innovative Art & Visuals of the Year category for their game, Super Me!

Recommended by Mensa Mind Games and a Tillywig 2019 Top Fun Award Winner, The Game of Wolf is a strategic trivia game that asks the question “Which is stronger? The Lone Wolf or the Pack?” Best friends quickly become foes as players decide how to pick their ‘pack’ based on each player’s knowledge of a subject. Or they can go rogue and go ‘Lone Wolf’ for a chance at doubling the points! Great for a small or large group of players, this game was created for ages 14+.

Hoyle’s Super Me! is an emotional intelligence game that includes elements of kid-favorites like Memory and Matching! With easy set up and taking turns matching the situation to the emergency, you can reinforce social skills like making good choices, helping others, and having empathy. Just flip over an Emergency! card, make a Super Me! match and become a Superhero by helping. Super Me! is easy to learn and a fun game for up to four players, ages 4-6

The TAGIEs, now in its 12th year, recognize the best and brightest innovators, designers and marketers in the toy and game industry. The TAGIEs also recognize the teams the inventors worked with at the companies that brought their ideas to life. Following a public voting period, winners will be revealed Friday, November 22, 2019 at the TAGIEs ceremony and gala, held annually during Chicago Toy & Game Week (ChiTAG), the night before the start of the ChiTAG’s epic consumer fair at Navy Pier.
