Fort William Henry Museum store ditches plastic bags
Shoppers at the Fort William Henry Museum gift shop will carry out their purchases recycled paper bags from now on.
The museum store in Lake George, New York, announced it is ditching plastic bags in an effort to help the environment, reported the Post Star on May 15.
“We deeply care about the lake and the surrounding natural wonders of our area,” museum CEO Kathy Muncil said in a press release. “It is becoming more and more evident that plastic bags are major contributors to the pollution of our water and forests, adversely affecting the land, water and wildlife.”
The gift shop at Fort William Henry Museum offers souvenirs, books, toys, apparel, replica muskets and cannons.
