Las Vegas Market’s first look reveals hottest new trends

Las Vegas Market announced that that its proprietary FIRST LOOK trend presentation and curated display will showcase four trending themes – Nourishment, Midnight Garden, Artist’s Hand and Personal Space – at the Winter 2017 Las Vegas Market, Jan. 22-26, 2017. All Las Vegas Market exhibitors are invited to submit related products – from furniture to home décor to gift and more – by December 2 for consideration in the FIRST LOOK display, presentation and at-Market publication.

“Las Vegas Market is an unparalleled platform for stylish and fashion-forward products for retailers and designers,” said Bob Maricich, CEO, International Market Centers. “As the leading furniture, home decor and gift destination in the western United States, Las Vegas Market is aligned with top tastemakers who curate the latest and greatest products from our exhibitors. Now in its 12th edition, our exclusive FIRST LOOK program highlights the latest trends, which serves as a guideline for evaluating and purchasing up-and-coming, must-have merchandise.”

The four key trends identified for the Winter 2017 FIRST LOOK are:

•    Nourishment
Deep sea blues, lustrous greens and grounded purples, plus matte metals and stone embellishments, combine in 2017’s Nourishment theme. It’s a daring, experimental and enticing approach to sophistication and luxury…one that rejuvenates the mind and body, just like a nutrients-packed elixir.

•    Midnight Garden
A nature-inspired story emerges from the shadows in FIRST LOOK’s Midnight Garden, a sultry theme where photorealism, digital effects, interplays of dark and light, romantic flourishes, and even scorched and charred textures invite viewers to surrender to the beauties of the night.

•    Artist’s Hand
The artist’s stamp, whether by way of signature or slight imperfection, is evident in Artist’s Hand, a theme that focuses on all gift and home product categories, especially textiles, accessories, jewelry and furniture. Look for nuance—and perhaps clever and quirky inscriptions—that connect owner and maker.

•    Personal Space
Personal Space, a bathroom vignette that features top colors in cabinetry—white, off-whites and blue-cast grays—showcases a range of categories including bathroom vanities, mirrors, wall decor, sconces, personal care products, candles, textiles and trinket dishes, to name just a few.

FIRST LOOK curator and 20-year magazine editor Julie Smith Vincenti will assemble a selection of beautifully styled product vignettes highlighting new merchandise from Winter Market exhibitors in a new showcase display located in the Grand Plaza, and a companion FIRST LOOK publication detailing the trends will be distributed at all Market registration areas.  In addition, Smith Vincenti will host a free FIRST LOOK seminar, serving up design insights from industry trendsetters, examining millennial’s purchasing trends, and sharing a “Top 10” trends forecast for 2017, on Monday, January 23, from 10–11 a.m., in WorldView on B16.

All Las Vegas Market exhibitors are invited to submit products for the FIRST LOOK program: to be considered, exhibitors must submit digital imagery (measuring at least 5”x7” at 300 dpi) and product descriptions by Friday, December 2, 2016, to Phyllis Hairr; please indicate if submissions are to be considered for either or both the publication and product displays.

In addition to the eagerly-anticipated FIRST LOOK program, Las Vegas Market will present a stellar lineup of additional trend-focused seminars, tours, talks and forecasts addressing what’s new – and next – in color, design and consumer preferences. The Market’s popular “View on Vegas” Instagram take-over also will spotlight top product picks from 25 leading taste makers and style setters.  One notable highlight of winter programming is the Las Vegas Market’s Design Icon Award, which is presented to an interior designer who has made a significant contribution to the industry. Now in its 11th year, the Design Icon Award both highlights the achievements of important designers and offers Las Vegas Market attendees an opportunity to learn from living legends.
