Star Wars-themed resorts coming to Disneyland, Disney World

AT D23 EXPO 2017, DISNEY PARKS CHAIRMAN BOB CHAPEK ANNOUNCES NEW DETAILS OF ATTRACTIONS PLANNED FOR STAR WARS: GALAXY’S EDGE — Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek shared new details and a glimpse inside the two attractions planed for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to both Disneyland park in Anaheim, Calif. and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Fla. in 2019.

The mother of all destination locations — Disney World — is getting even better, at least for Star Wars fans.

Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Bob Chapek has announced the name of a new Star Wars-inspired resort will be “Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge,” with locations at Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World Resorts in Florida.

The lands, as referred to by Disney, will allow attendees to immerse themselves in the Star Wars universe like never before. That will include two main attractions — a Millennium Falcon simulator and a Star Destroyer hangar bay.

Galaxy’s Edge will open in California in 2019 and in Florida the following year. We’re sure the gift shops will be out of this world.
