Safari Funds Kenyan Wildlife Conservation
Safari Ltd., manufacturer and worldwide distributor of award-winning replica collections, announced that they will be expanding their philanthropic efforts to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
Since 1977 the Trust has played a significant role in conserving and supporting wildlife native to Kenya. The Safari Ltd. donation to the Trust will sponsor the rehabilitation of four orphaned animals for five years - three elephants and one baby rhino. The animals will be reintroduced into their wild Kenyan habitat.
The Trust has integrated more than 60 elephants back into the wild, and a number of elephants return to the center to help newcomers' own rehabilitation.
"I was deeply moved by Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick's story," said Safari Ltd. Owner and CEO Ramona Pariente. "My hope is that society at large joins us in this remarkable cause."
Safari Ltd. is a third generational educational toy company, and the philanthropic contributions cover a wide variety of local and global conservation efforts, including Big Cat Rescue, Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the Humane Society of Greater Miami Adopt-A-Pet, New York Cares, the Marine Mammal Center, the Nature Conservancy, National Eagle Center and the Sierra Club.
