Q: What makes your store unique?

A: We are soap manufacturers who opened an art gallery and gift store in our main offices.

Q: What is your retail background?

A: I worked at a department store for a while in college, but most of my retail experience was working in small museums where running the museum shop was one more duty I had after running programs and creating displays.

Q: What is the most popular product you sell?

A: Our "Bootlegger" beer soap, which we also manufacture, is a top seller.

Q: What is your favorite part about working in this industry?

A: I love working with people who have an interest in art and history. To be able to make and sell products that fit in this niche makes me happy.

Q: What advice do you have for other retailers?

A: Don't be intimidated by new media. Try Facebook and Twitter and a few other things so you understand how they work and who else uses them. I post little snippets about new products and events on Twitter and am amazed at how many people are interested enough to learn more and visit our website after seeing the Twitter feed. It really is worth the time for us.
